What Links Do You Want?

poll.jpgI was in the process of updating the sidebar links, but was a little confused as to what exactly would people prefer, and what would make them navigate this site more effectively to help them find content they seek. Then I got thinking…

Why not ask you, my dear readers, directly? So I created a poll (see the top of this post) that asks the question, “What links would you like to see on the sidebar?” Please choose your answer.

To view the entire poll, just hover your mouse over the arrows. If your answer is “other,” could you please specify by replying and posting a comment, below? Thanks.

I tried to vote, but got the message that the poll was unavailable. I don't know if that means that vote got registered, but I can't see the result, or that the vote didn't get registered. I voted for "related articles," by the way.

    I hope this helps!
  • I think all of the above would be perfect.
  • Related entries is great help when you're studying. I just read 3 of your articles on headlines... because I found one and saw links to two more on the specific topic I wanted to know more about. Related entries is a very valuable resource.
  • I have no preference, but I would like to see them all, if you can fit them on. If so, I think starting with related articles would be good.
Thanks for all your great work.

  • I voted for useful resouces because I can use a little help to make my work easier. I
certainly appreciate hearing your opinion on the many resources out there - and which
    ones you would choose.
Thank you for your encouraging posts.

Why the need to specify just 1 of the 4 (radio buttons), a mixture of those categoires is probably best, as they are all important. I was impressed by the Time site, which I visited for the first time earlier today () and the combination of Featured articles, Latest News, Latest Blogs in the ZDNet Tech Update [newsletters@zdnet.online.com] or the link bars in http://blogs.zdnet.com/ such as Other Recent Posts, Polls, articles and blogs "From our sponsors", Power Features, related facts etc. are also a good mix.
