Three Simple Wishes For 2007
From marrying my Soul Mate and dealing with breast cancer, to taking my businesses to a new level and reconnecting with people I’ve missed terribly, 2006 was an amazing and event-filled year.
I’ve grown a lot this year. And I’ve been blessed to have you, dear reader, to remind me of what’s truly important any time of the year. But above all, I’ve learned a lot this year, too.
I’ve learned to love again. I’ve learned the meaning of true friendship. I’ve learned to be strong. I’ve learned indescribable wisdom. I’ve learned to be more compassionate. I’ve learned the power of forgiveness. And I’ve learned what it truly means to be loved, in spite of all your wrinkles and warts.
(Believe it or not, the last one was the biggest kicker for me.)
A new year is not a time to be merry. It should never be. It is a time to remind us of all the things that make us happy in the first place, and all the things in the previous year that taught us how to be happy — including the challenging times.
As Wayne Dyer once said, while quoting another spiritual leader, “There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.” For some reason, this quote particularly resonates with me at this time of the year, and more than any other time in my life.
In a popular forum, I was asked what are my resolutions for 2007. My answer is quite simple. It’s not exercising, dieting, quiting an undesirable habit or achieving some lofty goal. It’s merely comprised of three simple things:
Earn more. Work less. Enjoy better.
It is my sincere hope they are true for you, too, whether or not they are part of your own set of new year’s resolutions.
May your new year be blessed with peace and prosperity, health and happiness, love and laughter, and more. May you have the best year ever, and may every single day in 2007 be a reminder of all the things that make you happy. Even the little things.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
