The Success Doctor Gets Renovated!
I’ve been quiet lately for a number of reasons. First, I’m battling a really bad case of bronchitis. It hit me so hard that I’ve lost my voice and been bed-ridden for the last week or so.
In fact, I not only had to cancel numerous teleseminars and conference calls this week, but I was also in Atlanta to speak at a seminar yet stayed in my room most of the time to sleep. I only went down to the seminar room when I had to speak, and even then I was “heavily medicated”. (I hope I didn’t slur too much!)
Nevertheless, here’s another reason.
I spent the last two weeks redesigning my main site. I did it all myself. (I know, I know. I should have outsourced it. But hey, I love designing websites as much as I do copywriting!) I copied the look and feel of some of the slicker templates out there, but designed it all in Adobe Photoshop and FrontPage by myself. I also based the backend on WordPress as a content delivery and management system.
It’s my main company’s site, which is more like a portal and “resume” of sorts, and not really a site meant to generate sales or income. But I felt it was time to update my picture, give the site a fresh new look, and be more corporate- and professional-looking than what I’m traditionally used to. What do you think? I’m always open to suggestions…

Wow, Michel! Your new site is beautiful! Having just spent the past few days fiddling around with MT, EE, WP, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and more, I know what you went through (and I know what you mean about outsourcing this stuff too).
Honestly, it really looks sharp. Great job!

Yup, mostly in support of my wife who’s completely hairless right now, due to her chemotherapy sessions. I gotta admit, though, having no bad hair days is pretty darn cool.

Hey Man!
That;s a cool pose on the new site, kind of cross bewteen Armand and Donald Trump with a little mafia boss thrown in.
Sorry we didn’t get to come down and hang out with you and Sylvie when you were here this past weekend, I was COVERED UP DJing holiday parties.
I’m sure we’ll see you soon!
Take care, Ted
P.S. Tell Sylvie I’m working dilagently on my “above the crowd-er” assignment.

Michel, I stumbled onto it this morning by accident and thought Wow, how many main sites does Michel have? And why isn’t THIS the main site. It looks so much better than the other one.
So, that’s the initial effect it had on me, it’s THAT much better.

Great layout Michel. Easy, accessible and clean.
Wonder if bringing the main banner up an inch or 1.5 inch to feature your content more would work better?
Cheers…
Jeff

Hi Michel,
The website looks great EXCEPT for one thing…
The Photo.
You don’t look relaxed. It looks as if you crossed your arms and held them up in front of you; hardly a natural or relaxed pose such as the shot of you on your blog page.
The photo projects the image of a tense, hardened guy, not the calm, warm and confident Michel that I’ve heard so many times on teleseminars and in videos.
Incidentally–I like how easy it is to learn about the services that you perform. The website is more simple to navigate and is smoother.
All the best to you and Sylive.

I have to agree with Robert.
Michel, the photo of you reminds me of a “tough, Irish gangster” and not the warm-hearted, relaxed and considerate “real” Michel Fortin.
I think someone who see’s that photo, and then meets you in person, will be quite surprised at the contrasts between your personality and this photo.
(I’m interested to know why you’ve chosen this new look)
On another note: I think your new website is awesome. Easy to navigate and easy on the eye. Plus I think the new video is a great addition too.
Congrats
Your Friend,
Jesse Forrest

I think the photo of you is bold and it was what most caught my eye when I first saw the redesign. It works for me…
You’re almost like a genie… about to grant their wish with your copy

Hi Michel,
I like the look of your site but I feel the picture of you could be open, relaxed and inviting rather because closed. Just my 2 cents worth.

Michel, your eye for design/style AND your amazing copywriting ability never ceases to amaze me. That is such a rare, rare talent. I have a similar type of site and you put what I envisioned into HTML…mine just doesn’t look anything like that.
I gotsta get more skills like you’s been having..cuz you’s one clever guy!

Michel,
Nice… very nice!
From someone who’s in the midst of doing EXACTLY the same thing — creating a redesign of my http://www.jpmaroney.com website to make it my “main positioning” page and jumping off point… you did it splendidly.
Can’t wait to steal… er… borrow some of the ideas you used, and marry them with what I’ve been masterminding for my own site.
Once again — a TERRIFIC job!
Profitable “Pitbull” Regards,
JP Maroney

Great looking site! I’ve been re-designing my music site over and over and I think you have convinced me that I need to have Wordpress installed on my site. Like you, I enjoy learning how to do it myself - hope you are feeling better

Hi Mike,
I can see the steely resolve you have to face the challenges.
I think this is the most appropriate way of facing them.
If only others can also be like that….
Congratulations,

If you’d made that process into a series of Camtasia videos, I’d pay for it !
If you want to do a site and make a series of videos out of it to sell, I volunteer !
The design is that dang good and many, many people would love to learn how you did that … especially me !
