Your Reader Wants To Know These 5 Things

Reasons whyThe other day, I was asked the following question:

“Why should the author of a product be included in their sales copy? Specifically, why do my readers need to know who I am or what I bring to the table? How does telling them my qualifications (or lack thereof) increase the strength of my copy?”

The author of the question then went on to say:

“My product solves a medical condition. But I am not a doctor and I have never had this condition myself. I’ve spent a year researching the best method to cure this condition. I have a list of 20,000 people with this condition and converse with them a lot. I know pretty much everything there is to know about this condition and have made it into an ebook.”

The answer is quite simple actually. In fact, in defending himself (i.e., that he’s not a doctor) the questioner answered his own question. Let me explain…

Email-Based Coaching Program Relaunched

Email-based coachingIf you remember, a few months back I launched my email-based coaching program. Shortly thereafter, I’ve reached the number I wanted to enroll in the program, and so I closed the doors.

Since then, however, I’ve wrestled with the idea of reopening it to allow a few new members. Why? Partly because I’m very picky when choosing people with whom I work closely, and partly because I’ve received numerous requests asking me about it.

In fact, since closing my doors I’ve received 52 requests to join my program.

Yes, fifty two! I counted them.

So I’ve relaunched my email-based coaching program, but only to a few select applicants. With this program, you can ask me unlimited questions, to which I will answer personally — as long as your subscription is active.

Here’s what this amazing programs includes:

Content Overload Forces Follow-Up Webinar

angry.jpgMy apologies for the webinar being cut inadvertently short. I was giving out so much content that I lost track of time. The software mercilessly booted me out in the middle of my presentation.

This presentation was “off the cuff” and meant purely as a way to give you as much great content as I possibly could. I wasn’t looking at my watch. (Judging from the emails I received, you weren’t, either. And I’m glad!)

But I want to stick to my promise.

Create Optimized Blog FAQs On The Fly

FAQ-TasticI love readers’ questions. And sometimes, the same questions keep coming up that I decide on posting a blanket answer on this blog to cover them.

I do this as a way to create content for this blog, help my readers find the answers they’re looking for, and save me time from not having to answer the same questions over and over again.

Problem is, many people never find the blog post that answers their question, particularly if it’s old and sitting deep in the archives. And many people don’t take the time to search for it, because it’s work and it’s simply easier to contact my staff for the answer.

I thought about creating a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page. But I wanted a brain-dead easy solution to be able to do this in a snap (much like posting to this blog), and offer more to my readers.

But also, I wanted one that would optimize my page for the search engines (where specific keywords are included in the titles and questions), and be easy enough for me to simply answer questions as I go along.

Finally, I found one…

Here are answers. If the answer is useful to you, please let me know by clicking the rating icon on the right. This will help me improve this page.

  1. Can I get customer or technical support?

    Rating: +3Positive Negative

If you need support (such as losing a password, having trouble downloading or opening products, reporting a bug, etc), or if need assistance for any reason, please open a support ticket through our helpdesk system.

The helpdesk is for tracking purposes only, as it is impossible to read or reply to every email. Opening a ticket guarantees you will receive a response from my support staff.

  2. Can I hire you for copywriting or consulting?

    Rating: +6Positive Negative

For more information about my services, including fees, projects, client lists, programs, and samples, visit my corporate site, The Success Doctor, Inc.

I offer copywriting, copy rewriting, consulting, and speaking services. If you wish to know how much of an investment is required, you can fill out a free quote request (it’s a $95 value).

  3. Can I see some of your copywriting samples?

    Rating: +1Positive Negative

You can check out a partial client list, samples from my portfolio, testimonials from clients, as well as actual results achieved with my copy. Visit my corporate site, The Success Doctor, Inc. in the services offered section, for more.

  4. Do you offer one-on-one coaching or mentoring?

    Rating: +3Positive Negative

Yes. I offer an email-based coaching program where you can ask me, directly, unlimited questions on any topic for a monthly subscription fee. This program also includes access to any of my digital products and a few other bonuses.

For more information about my email-based coaching program, check out my coaching program for more. (Availability is limited.)

  5. Can you review my salesletter or website?

    Rating: -1Positive Negative

What you’re asking for is a critique consultation, and I charge a nominal fee for doing these. You can choose to either join my email-based coaching program, where you can ask me unlimited questions, or get a free estimate (it’s a $95 value) to do a formal, full-on critique consultation.

Otherwise, if you’re simply looking for a free critique of your salesletter, email, ad, or website copy, or if you simply have a quick question and want some advice or guidance, you can also use my free copywriting discussion forum (there’s no cost to join).

  6. Can I advertise on your copywriting blog?

    Rating: +0Positive Negative

There are two ways to do this. You can choose to have me write a review of your site and post it on this blog as its own, distinct entry. If you simply wish to add your ad that will be displayed on this blog, you can buy ad space by contacting me.

(Personally, I prefer commission- or performance-based advertisements. So if you have an affiliate program and/or can make me a “super-affiliate” at a higher-than-normal commission, I would prefer that than actually selling ad space.)

This highly trafficked blog currently holds a Google® PageRank of PR5 and serves about 50,000 readers in total, and growing (i.e., unique visitors, RSS subscribers, and email subscribers).

  7. Can I reprint your articles or blog posts?

    Rating: -1Positive Negative

Absolutely. As long as you leave the “about the author” section at the end intact, with links back to my site, you can distribute or reprint any of my articles or posts on your own blog, ezine, newsletter, magazine, website, publication, or directory. If you wish to edit the content for style or length, simply let me know.

Also, you may distribute, reprint, or publish content from my free ebook, “The 10 Commandments of Power Positioning” or my free white paper, “The Death of The Salesletter,” provided that the content and links are unedited and left intact as well.

  8. Do you answer your emails personally?

    Rating: -1Positive Negative

Unfortunately, I no longer answer emails personally, unless you are a paying client, subscriber, or a member of my coaching program. If you wish to have me answer your message personally, or for priority assistance, please visit my coaching program information page for more.

Clients and coaching students are given my personal, confidential email address. They can ask unlimited questions, provided their subscription is active. Due to my busy schedule, all unsolicited calls, faxes and emails from non-customers, non-subscribers or non-members requesting copywriting or marketing advice will NOT be returned. Please accept my apologies in advance.

  9. Can I interview you or speak with you?

    Rating: -3Positive Negative

If your question is a joint-venture request, only requests for interviews, content contribution, participation in teleseminars or webinars, or approval for using content for commercial purposes will be considered. To be considered, please open a support ticket through our helpdesk system.

Otherwise, please note that, at this time, we are not taking on any JV requests. Requests are coming in several times a day, and I am trying to keep it from becoming a stressful situation for me and my team. Thank you for understanding.

  10. Where can I get a blog theme like yours?

    Rating: +3Positive Negative

Unfortunately, I designed my own theme using the basic WordPress theme template, and customized the graphics with Adobe® PhotoShop and the stylesheets to fit.

However, since so many people asked, Cory Miller, a talented blog designer, and with my permission, created a blog theme based on mine. You can find out more at Clean Copy WordPress Theme and Clean Copy Right and Full themes. And yes, you can download and use those themes. They are free.

Boost Exposure With These Tips And Plugins

Question from coaching studentA couple of notes. First off, my personal coaching program has room for three more students. I will not raise the price until the three slots have been taken. It’s currently at $500 a month.

If you join, you will lock in your subscription at that rate, and it will never increase for as long as you remain active. As a member, you can ask me unlimited questions, one question at a time, which I will answer. This is a great opportunity to be mentored by me, personally.

Second, one of my students in my personal coaching program, asked: “Michel, I’m starting a blog using WordPress. Do you have any general tips on things like layout, plugins, design, etc?”

Unlock The Millionaire Within You

Email-based coachingI have wrestled with this idea of offering a “Coaching Program” for some time now. Why? Partly because I’m very picky when choosing people with whom I work closely, and partly because I’ve received numerous requests asking me about it.

After much reflection, and after conferring with some of my friends who are millionaire coaches, I decided to launch one of my own. As of right now, I am opening the doors for a limited time and offering a multi-tiered program, with mainly two options:

  • Option A: A 30-Day Intensive Consulting Program
  • Option B: A Subscription-Based, Email-Only Coaching Program

Here’s what these programs include:
