I’m in Austin, Texas this week to attend a wed­ding — con­grat­u­la­tions to Heather and Bran­don! — and a week­long, pri­vate sem­i­nar with my mas­ter­mind group. But while I’m here, I’ve got some good news and some bad news…

The bad news — for me, not you — is that, a week before leav­ing, I suf­fered a sacroil­iac joint injury. It was likely caused by my bad pos­ture related to my exist­ing her­ni­ated discs, which as a result is caus­ing ago­niz­ing sci­at­ica.

For the first three days, I was com­pletely immo­bile. It took me an hour just to get out of bed! Any slight move­ment would cre­ate shoot­ing pains in my lower back, par­tic­u­larly in my but­tocks, and would go down my leg with aches and a “pins and nee­dles” feeling.

It’s excru­ci­at­ing. In fact, I almost backed out of the Austin trip. But being able to regain some mobil­ity, I took a chance at the last minute. Luck­ily, the air­line pro­vided me with a wheel­chair. Cur­rently, I’m walk­ing with two canes and a back brace.

Now, the good news…

After brows­ing the fast-​​growing MySpace​.com for a while, I was bewil­dered by how many of my friends, clients and asso­ciates were on it. For exam­ple, there’s Armand Mori… er, I mean, Michael Lee Austin, Tell­man Knud­son, Mar­lon Sanders, Tony Blake, and more.

After hem­ming and haw­ing for a while, I decided to take the plunge. And finally, I now have my own space! I’ve listed my favorite books, pho­tos, inter­ests and music, includ­ing a few MP3s of my bands old and new. But more impor­tantly, I’ve seen that some of my friends are using it for mar­ket­ing pur­poses. So guess what I’ll be test­ing in the com­ing weeks?

Many peo­ple have said that copy is not impor­tant for major prod­uct launches. They said that, if the launch is done strate­gi­cally, and there are ample affil­i­ates pro­mot­ing your prod­uct, peo­ple will sim­ply buy even if there were just a sim­ple “buy now” but­ton on the website.

Some peo­ple have said this about my copy for John Reese’s famous million-​​dollar day launch of his course Traf­fic Secrets. Oth­ers have said this about other major prod­uct launches. But I can tell you, noth­ing can be fur­ther from the truth.

There’s a new threat (well, seem­ing threat) spread­ing on the Inter­net these days, mostly per­pet­u­ated by a recent press release. This is cur­rently being dis­cussed on many forums, too, and some point to the MP3 licens­ing web­site.

In a nut­shell, the cre­ator of the MP3 encod­ing process is attempt­ing to col­lect roy­al­ties from cre­ators of MP3s. And this, appar­ently, is threat­en­ing Inter­net mar­keters who gen­er­ate and dis­trib­ute MP3s with some hefty lawsuits.

I per­son­ally don’t buy the argu­ment, and here’s why…
