Author of The Famous Seven Dirty Words Dies

George CarlinI’m in Vegas right now attending three seminars back to back. I’ve been here for close to three weeks now, and we’re about to return home tomorrow. This explains why I haven’t blogged in a while.

While here, we’re looking at some properties. We want to buy a vacation home, especially during those cold winter months in Canada. (I think we found our home.)

But last week, my wife took me to see George Carlin at the Orleans Casino as my Father’s Day gift. It was a great show. George was funnier than ever. Still raw, caustic, and ranting at 71, he certainly hasn’t lost his touch.

Well, just a few moments ago I’ve learned that we, however, lost him.

When I learned about it, I was speechless. We just saw him a few days ago! I guess we caught one of his last shows if not his last. The funniest part of this? His show included jokes about dying and the afterlife.

Rest in peace, George Carlin. We’ll miss you.

Michel Fortin Interview Part 2 of 5

RZ%20best%20picture small Michel Fortin Interview Part 2 of 5Michel Fortin: People have egos and it’s normal and it’s natural and we all have things that are near and dear to every single person. People will fight for what their egos tell them that they need to fight for.

I’m a very humble person. I always like to take the low road. I do like the approval. I do like the limelight. But, if I feel that somebody else can take it for me, if I feel that if there is something that I can do, that it takes away from me, but it makes somebody else’s life better, I will do that. That’s a really hard lesson to learn in humility.

Whenever you look at, for example, some of the discussion boards that I’m participating in, sometimes you get these really fierce battles. And there was a couple of times when people actually were against some of the things that I’ve either actually said or had done.

Successfulness Defined

Drop Your Goals“Success is always temporary. When all is said and done, the only thing you’ll have left is your character.“
–Vince Gill

Today, when one is considered “successful,” that person is usually labeled as such according to some external criterion. This is only natural, for along with the majority of the human race you have the tendency to judge a book by its cover. What you perceive or observe through any of your five senses is oftentimes interpreted as reality or truth. And the problem, however, is that when you distinguish that which is success to you, you are only scratching the surface.
