My last post, where a disgruntled copywriter demanded “the truth” about creating wealth in copywriting, inspired copywriter Andrew Cavanagh to share the story of his beginnings on my forum:
“Here’s how I made my first ‘money’ in copywriting.”
Then one by one, other copywriters started adding their own. The responses were nothing short of amazing!
Many of the stories show that there’s indeed hope. They also show that we were all struggling copywriters once, too. And we didn’t all become overnight millionaires with million-dollar clients, as “Chuck,” the disillusioned copywriter, postulated.
I loved it so much that I posted my own story. I’ve decided to share it with you here. (By the way, the picture at the top is of me, circa 1991. A lot thinner, with glasses, and a lot more hair!) Anyway, here is my story…

Sad day. I’m speechless.
In case you haven’t heard, the infamous Gary Halbert, the Alpha Shitweasel, the Prince of Print, died in his sleep on Easter Sunday.
All I can say is, the copywriting world has lost one of its biggest icons. There will NEVER be another Gary Halbert, that’s for sure.
John Reese left the message on my copywriter’s board just after midnight. John Carlton, who was Gary’s best friend in this biz, wrote a blog post that says it all. (It literally brought tears to my eyes.)
I remember two years ago when I did a seminar with him, John Carlton, and Mark Joyner, called the “Fusion Seminar.” (There are some incredibly funny stories from that seminar, which I will share with you some time soon!)
Rest in peace, brother. You can also listen to two interviews I’ve done with Gary Halbert, and one with John Carlton.

You may know this, but my free Copywriters Message Board was the target of hackers in recent weeks. Not once, but twice.
This free forum is where top and aspiring copywriters alike converge to discuss, critique and share tips on anything and everything about copywriting. Some members include Gary Halbert, John Carlton, John Reese, Armand Morin, Clayton Makepeace, as well as a ton of top copywriters, both known and not so well-known.

As I’m preparing for Gary Halbert’s shindig in Miami this weekend, then to Carl Galletti’s in Vegas the following week, I had a chance to reflect on the past month. Many things have happened in my life of late, and I am more focused on work than ever before.
One of them is the launch of an upcoming mega-product on marketing for copywriters, co-authored with my friend and associate, John Angelache, which will be sold at FreelanceCopywritingProfits.com.
This course is the most elaborate, comprehensive, jam-packed, step-by-step infoproduct I have ever released in my life.
Here’s why…

Yup. I’m hosting two free teleseminars this week. No costs. No sales pitches. And fully content-driven. (Where I find time to do this stuff, I really don’t have a clue. But I love it!)
Yes, you read that right. Not one … But TWO teleseminars! With yours truly (and some pretty awesome special guests in the world of copywriting, too). This is hardcore content at its finest.
Will you please join us? Again, it’s totally free and more content-driven than any other teleseminars I’ve ever given in the past.
Here’s the skinny …

The last two weeks have been nuts. So I haven’t had the chance to post much. After writing Frank Kern’s salesletter for his big Underachiever Mastery launch last Sunday working almost the entire time while at Stephen Pierce’s seminar in Detroit, barricading myself in my hotel room, it’s been more than crazy.
It’s been insane!
In fact, I promised a friend of mine in Windsor (Rick Beneteau) to visit him while down there, but Frank’s letter was such a huge affair, I had no choice. I was stuck. And now, I’m exhausted. (And that doesn’t count the fact that I’m writing two other big projects — one for John Reese, and another for Armand Morin.
But now that the bigger dust has settled, let’s roll.

This entry is a request for your feedback. You see, as you may know, I’ve conducted a series of teleseminars with the great Gary Halbert and John Carlton (2nd calls are on the way, so you better register by clicking here if you want to be notified!). And I’m thinking…
I spoke to my friend and primo-copywriter Brian Keith Voiles. And he’s very interested in doing one, too. Also, I’m also getting ready to do one with David Garfinkel — another superb copywriter.
(If you don’t know these guys, what rock have you been hiding under?)
My question for you, is, should I add it to the series already posted with Gary Halbert and John Carlton? Or should I create a separate website for them (since they’re a bit lesser known than Gary and John)? Post your comments at the end of this entry. Please?
