RSS Feed And MyBlogLog Community
I’m going to post a new article later this afternoon. But I realize that sometimes I don’t broadcast an email notice to you. Either I simply forget, or I don’t have the time.
The RSS-to-email notification is still being upgraded, so until then, the only way to make sure you’re notified of any new blog posts is to subscribe to my RSS feed.
RSS feeds allow you to add the blog to your favorite RSS reader (like FeedDemon, Newsgator, etc), or start page (PageFlakes, NetVibes, YahooWeb, Google Reader, etc).
I highly recommend that you add my feed.
I also added MyBlogLog to my blog — recently acquired by Yahoo. It shows you who’s been reading my blog. Just check out my sidebar, at the bottom of the right-hand column.
They also offer a pretty powerful statistics program that tracks your blog’s incoming and outgoing traffic.
I’ve converted over to MyBlogLog since Performancing fell through. (I loved Performancing, which was a great blog tracking and stats program. But they have since closed their doors, without any notice. I’m pretty irked by that.)
Here’s my profile. Join my community.
Feedburner, which is an RSS feed management tool that tracks feed subscriptions and traffic, has recently introduced a new site stats package as well. They were suggested by the folks at Performacing as an alternative on the day they closed down.
Problem is, Feedburner’s stats program is tremendously incomplete and hard to use. I’m only hoping they will improve over time. But for now, MyBlogLog has got my vote.
You should set up a profile, whether you’re a blogger or not. This way, you can connect with other readers of this blog — or any of your favorite blogs — and see what they like or say.
