Copywriters Board Gets Renovated
You may know this, but my free Copywriters Message Board was the target of hackers in recent weeks. Not once, but twice.
This free forum is where top and aspiring copywriters alike converge to discuss, critique and share tips on anything and everything about copywriting. Some members include Gary Halbert, John Carlton, John Reese, Armand Morin, Clayton Makepeace, as well as a ton of top copywriters, both known and not so well-known.
Anyhow, these hacking attempts have forced me to move from the open-source phpBB to the more versatile, more robust and more secure vBulletin. I’m actually surprised at how easy it was. And the new board rocks! (And apparently, board members love it, too.)
What do you think? Glide on over and check it out, and post your comments — either here, below, on the board itself (there’s a thread on board feedback, and it’s free to register and join).

That’s a good approach Michel. When I had to setup a private board recently even though it’s private, I decided against phpBB it’s just getting to be like Microsoft - too widely used, too many attempts at cracking it.

Vbulletin is amazing! I’ve used this program for four years now and have never once had it hacked — despite running a very controversial forum with it. FTR, I’m new to The Copy Doctor and I can’t wait to see what everyone has to say.

We had the same hacker problem with our boards. This is a known problem and those free phbb boards should be avoided at all costs. The hackers can use them to get into your server and use the server as a Spam relay, which causes all sorts of problems. We ended up moving our server after this problem.
This is not an obscure problem only effecting a few sites. Check out this story about Google:

If it can effect Google, you can be sure that it can hit you too!

More power to you Michel!
I haven’t logged in yet, I will after this post.
vBulletin is the best there is and I am probably going that direction too - lot’s of ready made features unlike phpBB which when heavily moded is a nightmare come upgrade time.
On hackers & spammers - I hate you like cocroaches crawling into my food!

From Jeff Paul, Jim Fleck & Mal Emery reveal there Million Dollar secrets.
Hi Michel,
I understand how you would be feeling.
On the weekend 10 of the 13 sites on my server were hacked. They left a couple and luckily after 10 hours I have everything back up bar 1 site that is at about 80%. I wish I had been backing up religously. Unfortunately I hadn’t.
I remember not long ago I received an email from one of the relatively top marketers promoting a webserver backup tool. I didn’t buy it and now wish I had. Which sort of relates back to the TOM (Top Of Mind) theory. I probably would have got annoyed if he kept sending me emails about the software but guaranteed if I had of received one in the last week or within the next week I would be buying it.
As Jeff Paul says on the course I have (www.lazy-internet-marketing.com) you should keep promoting to your list until they buy or die. And it is just for this reason.
Anyway, I really like the forum. I had read about it before but this time have joined.
Best of Luck
Justin Bryce

Hello.
Nice forum design. Okay, I need your help.
So, I wanna make personal site, and I am looking for site template.
Can you suggest some online catalog or other resource where I can find many site templates?
It would be better if it will be free:)
I think many of us have personal sites, do you design it yourself?
Thanks a lot, Bill.
